  1. the slightly earlier “Winnie the Pooh” (1926) – minus Tigger (alas) – must rate as one of my half-dozen or so ‘favourite’ books, up there with Dante, Cervantes, Dostoevsky, Kafka and Bashevis Singer!
    I defy anyone to read about Eeyore and not fall (helplessly) in love
