Our earliest cookery book contains two works from 1635. ‘A Closet for Ladies and Gentlewomen. or The Art of Preserving, Conserving and Candying …’ and ‘Medicines and Salves together with Delights for Ladies to Adorn their Persons , Tables, Closets and Distillatories …’

It is such a piece of history. An old household aid from the time when Charles I was on the throne and predates The English Civil War.

It is bound in 17th century calf gilt. The price is £1000.00.
