At Swim Two Birds

At Swim Two Birds by Flann O’Brien

Introduced by Anne Brichto, co-owner of Addyman Books, via their new Instagram account

Book pairing with a collection of watches from our local independent Mayall Jewellers. This example of the Penguin Modern Classics is the Irish classic, At Swim Two Birds, by Flann O’Brien.

I love some of these covers by @penguinukbooks and after it came in stopped by our lovely jewellers and they kindly emptied one of their cases to provide the photograph.

  1. I like Anne’s (Instagram) idea of linking books to (vaguely) related subjects; especially the edible (yum-yum) sort.
O’Brien is the (only) natural successor to James Stephens (the greatest Irish writer of the twentieth century; Beckett and Milligan notwithstanding)
My favourite O’Brien offering would be The Third Policeman, but ASTB is (probably) more famous
