The Rice Paper Diaries

The Rice Paper Diaries by Francesca Rhydderch

Introduced by Francesca Rhydderch

Francesca Rhydderch introduces her novel which was partly inspired by her great aunt’s experience as a civilian in a Japanese prisoner of war camp.

Francesca won Wales Book of the Year, English Language Fiction 2014 for The Rice Paper Diaries and she was shortlisted for the BBC Short Story Award in the same year.

This weekend, just 25 minutes away from Hay, Francesca will be leading a Fiction Writing Masterclass at Arts Alive Wales, for the inaugural Crickhowell Literary Festival. There is one place left, in case anyone wants to snap it up.  Francesca will also be reading from her novel and talking to Oliver Balch at an evening event, from 6pm to 8pm also at Arts Alive Wales. This event is open to anyone and tickets are £5 on the door.
